Mark the private information
The secret flag belongs to a location or route. A route attached to a secret location becomes GM-only automatically, even if its own flag was public. This avoids exposing a hidden destination through a visible route.
The map title and region names are public fields. If a name itself reveals a secret, keep that information in a secret location label instead. The tool cannot infer narrative meaning from a phrase.
Inspect the player preview
Switching the preview changes the map drawing, while the editor controls remain the game-master workspace. Do not screen-share the entire editor as if it were a sanitized player view. Use the exported player file for that purpose.
Player SVG, PNG and standalone HTML omit secret locations and routes from their content. The GM map, project JSON and route CSV intentionally preserve them and are explicitly labeled as secret-bearing outputs.
Choose the output for its use
SVG is a scalable vector handout; PNG is a locally rendered raster copy. The standalone player HTML contains the map without an external service. Browser printing can save a page as PDF, but no separate physical-scale PDF template is claimed.
The editable JSON is for continued authoring. Keep it with the GM’s files and save a fresh version after edits. Inspect the exact player output before distributing it, especially after changing labels or visibility.
